Why Choose PGX-2000 Distribution Box

Modular reconfigurable layout, robust steel build, and a refined ribbed aesthetic

Flexible Modular Mounting System

Adjustable track with movable mounting blocks enables quick repositioning, addition, or replacement of DIN-rail mounted devices without drilling or plate modification — supporting modular circuit configurations up to 24 outgoing ways with maximum layout flexibility for different project requirements.

Human-Centric Aesthetic Design

Clean ribbed panel appearance with smooth lines and concealed fixings delivers a refined, professional finish suitable for exposed installation in visually sensitive environments including office buildings, retail spaces, hotels, and public facilities where equipment appearance matters as much as function.

Standardized Construction

Factory-standardized internal layouts, busbar configurations, and wiring schemes ensure consistent build quality and simplify future modifications — standardized mounting centres and knockout positions are compatible with common project specifications and installation practices, reducing on-site errors and rework.

Robust Steel Construction

Cold-rolled steel enclosure with electrostatic epoxy powder coating provides excellent mechanical protection, impact resistance, and long-term corrosion protection for reliable indoor service in commercial, residential, and light industrial environments, withstanding normal handling and site conditions.

Broad Device Compatibility

Accepts standard 9mm/18mm modular DIN-rail devices from any manufacturer — MCBs for overcurrent, RCCBs and RCBOs for residual-current protection, contactors for motor or load control, and terminal blocks for wiring distribution — giving installers freedom of component choice and easy replacement.

Configurable Circuit Count

Available with 4 to 24 outgoing circuits, configurable to match the specific load schedule of each project — from small residential floor distribution (4–8 ways) to larger commercial floor panels (12–24 ways) — with the adjustable track allowing circuits to be added or reorganized as the load evolves.

Top & Bottom Cable Entry

Knock-out openings on both the top and bottom of the enclosure accommodate incoming supply cables and outgoing load cables in logical top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top routing arrangements, supporting both overhead and underground cable configurations on the same enclosure.

Ribbed Door with Concealed Fixings

The steel door features a ribbed panel that adds rigidity and a clean architectural aesthetic, while all mounting fixings are concealed behind the door or trim — eliminating visible screw heads for a premium appearance when the box is surface-mounted in occupied or public spaces.

High Current Capacity

With a main busbar rated up to 225A and a 400V/415V system voltage, the PGX-2000 covers both single-phase and three-phase small-power distribution — suitable for floor-level distribution in commercial buildings, multi-circuit lighting panels, and small machine power distribution in light industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about PGX-2000 ribbed distribution boxes

How does the PGX-2000 differ from the GHM distribution box?

Both are indoor low-voltage distribution boxes for lighting and small-power circuits, but they differ in construction, capacity, and aesthetics: (1) Mounting system — PGX-2000 uses an adjustable track with movable mounting blocks, allowing DIN-rail devices (MCB, RCCB, RCBO, contactor, terminal blocks) to be repositioned, added, or replaced without drilling or plate modification; GHM uses a conventional fixed DIN-rail mounting plate. (2) Capacity — PGX-2000 supports up to 225A main busbar and 4–24 outgoing circuits, covering larger floor-distribution panels; GHM is typically rated for lower currents and fewer ways as a final distribution box. (3) Aesthetics — PGX-2000 has a ribbed steel door with concealed fixings for a premium, exposed-installation appearance; GHM has a standard plain door. (4) Installation — PGX-2000 is surface (wall) mounted only; GHM is available in both surface and flush configurations. Choose PGX-2000 for projects needing flexible circuit reconfiguration, higher current capacity, or a refined exposed appearance; choose GHM for standard fixed-layout final distribution where flush mounting is required.

How does the adjustable track system work in the PGX-2000?

The adjustable track mounting system (shared with GOHO's QHX dual power box and DBX-5000 meter box) works as follows: (1) Horizontal or vertical mounting rails (tracks) are fixed to the internal mounting plate. (2) Movable mounting blocks slide freely along these tracks and can be locked at any position by tightening their set screws. (3) The DIN rail (for MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, contactors) and terminal blocks are bolted to the movable blocks. (4) To reconfigure — add a circuit, change device width, or reorganize the layout — loosen the blocks, slide the DIN rail and components to the new position, and retighten. No drilling, no tapping, no replacement mounting plate. This is valuable for projects where the circuit count or device mix may change during construction, for retrofit installations, or for maintenance teams that need to swap components quickly. The same enclosure can serve many different circuit configurations, reducing the need to stock multiple enclosure variants.

What devices can I install inside the PGX-2000?

The PGX-2000 accepts standard 9mm/18mm modular DIN-rail mounted devices from any manufacturer, including: (1) MCBs (miniature circuit breakers) — for overload and short-circuit protection of outgoing circuits, 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P. (2) RCCBs (residual current circuit breakers) — for earth-leakage protection on a group of circuits. (3) RCBOs (residual current breakers with overcurrent) — combined overcurrent + earth-leakage protection per circuit. (4) Contactors — for remote or automatic control of lighting or small motor loads. (5) Terminal blocks — for neutral/earth distribution and load wiring. (6) Isolators / main switches — for the incoming supply. Incoming protection is typically an MCCB or main switch up to 225A, and outgoing protection is MCBs/RCBOs sized per circuit. Because the DIN rail is on adjustable track blocks, the device layout can be customized to fit any combination. When specifying, provide the single-line diagram and device list so we can pre-configure the track layout and ship the box fully wired, or supply it empty for on-site assembly.

Can the PGX-2000 be installed outdoors or flush-mounted?

The PGX-2000 is designed for indoor, surface (wall) mounted installation only: (1) Protection rating — IP40, suitable for indoor dry environments (corridors, electrical rooms, meter cupboards, offices, retail back-of-house). It is not rated for outdoor use. (2) Mounting — surface-mounted only (fixed directly to the wall surface); it is not available as a flush/recessed version. (3) For outdoor distribution — consider the JP series outdoor comprehensive distribution box, which is purpose-built for exposed outdoor service with higher IP rating and UV resistance. (4) For flush-mounted indoor distribution — consider the GHM series, which offers both surface and flush configurations. The PGX-2000's surface-only design is intentional: the ribbed aesthetic door is meant to be seen, so it is optimized for exposed indoor installation where appearance matters. Always ensure the operating temperature range (-25°C to +40°C) and non-condensing humidity (≤95%) are respected.

How many outgoing circuits should I choose, and can I add more later?

The PGX-2000 supports 4 to 24 outgoing circuits, selected based on your load schedule: (1) Small residential floor or shop — 4–8 ways. (2) Larger apartment floor or small office — 8–12 ways. (3) Commercial floor or multi-zone lighting — 12–24 ways. When choosing, size for the current circuit count plus 10–20% spare ways for future circuits. (2) Adding circuits later — because the PGX-2000 uses the adjustable track system, additional MCBs/RCBOs can be added within the existing enclosure up to the configured maximum way count, simply by sliding the DIN rail blocks to create space. You do not need to drill new holes or replace the mounting plate. However, if you need more ways than the enclosure's configured maximum, you would need a larger enclosure. To maximize future flexibility, we recommend ordering the enclosure with the maximum way count you anticipate, even if some ways are initially blanked off — the adjustable track means you can populate spares later without enclosure modification.

Is the PGX-2000 suitable for three-phase distribution?

Yes. The PGX-2000 is rated at 400V/415V AC with a main busbar up to 225A, making it suitable for both single-phase and three-phase distribution: (1) Three-phase incoming — a 3P+N or 4P main MCCB (up to 225A) feeds a three-phase busbar system (L1, L2, L3, N, PE). (2) Outgoing circuits — can be a mix of three-phase (3P or 3P+N MCB) and single-phase (1P MCB, distributed across the three phases) circuits, allowing balanced three-phase load distribution across multiple single-phase final circuits. (3) Single-phase incoming — a 2P main switch feeds a single-phase busbar, with single-phase outgoing MCBs. (4) For higher three-phase currents or larger motor loads, consider the XL-21 power cabinet or GGD/GCS switchgear instead. The PGX-2000 is best suited to small-power and lighting distribution at floor or zone level, not to main incoming or large motor control. Provide your single-line diagram so we can confirm the busbar rating, phase balance, and device configuration for your specific application.
