Metro City Center Charging Hub — 6 Dispensers, 480kW
Flexible DC Charging Stack | Downtown Urban Location | Operational Since Q2 2025
A major charging network operator needed a high-density DC fast charging solution for a prime downtown location with limited electrical infrastructure. The challenge was maximizing the number of charging points within a 500kW grid connection while maintaining fast charging speeds for drivers.
GOHO deployed two 240kW flexible DC charging stacks feeding six dispenser units. The dynamic power sharing system automatically redistributes power across active chargers — when fewer vehicles are charging, each gets maximum power; when all six are in use, power is intelligently shared to maintain acceptable charging speeds.
The station is also supported by a GOHO prefabricated substation for reliable grid connection, creating a complete end-to-end power solution from MV supply to vehicle plug.

Frequently Asked Questions About DC Fast Chargers
Answers to common questions about DC fast charging station equipment, installation, and operations.
AC charging (Level 2) delivers alternating current to the vehicle, which uses its onboard charger to convert AC to DC for the battery. DC fast charging bypasses the onboard charger by delivering direct current directly to the battery, enabling much faster charging speeds — typically 10-20x faster than Level 2. A 120kW DC fast charger can add 100+ km of range in 10-15 minutes, compared to hours with AC charging. DC fast chargers are essential for highway rest stops, urban hubs, and commercial fleet operations where quick turnaround is needed.
The required power depends on the number and rating of chargers. A single 120kW DC charger needs at least 120kW of electrical supply plus ~10% overhead for losses and auxiliaries. For multi-charger stations, you can apply a diversity factor (typically 0.7-0.85) since not all chargers run at full power simultaneously. For example, 6 × 120kW chargers with 0.75 diversity need ~540kW total supply. Our engineering team performs detailed load calculations based on your specific charger mix and expected utilization to properly size the electrical supply and substation.
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is the open communication standard that connects charging stations to central management systems. OCPP 1.6J, the most widely adopted version, enables remote start/stop, real-time status monitoring, transaction data collection, firmware updates, and smart charging functions. Choosing OCPP-compliant chargers means you are not locked into a single vendor’s management platform — you can switch CMS providers or integrate with roaming networks without replacing hardware. All GOHO DC fast chargers support OCPP 1.6J with JSON over WebSocket, and our flexible charging stack is OCPP 2.0 ready for future upgrades.
DC fast chargers require regular preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation and long service life. Typical maintenance includes: filter replacement every 3-6 months, inspection of connectors and cables, firmware updates, cleaning of cooling fans and heat sinks, and annual electrical safety testing. GOHO chargers are designed for easy maintenance with modular power modules that can be swapped in under 30 minutes, front-access service design, and remote diagnostics that can identify many issues without an on-site visit. With proper maintenance, you can expect 10+ years of reliable service from GOHO DC fast chargers.
