HXGN15-12 Switchgear

HXGN15-12(F) / HXGN15-12(F·R) Prefabricated Fixed AC Metal-Clad Switchgear

HXGN15-12(F) and HXGN15-12(F·R) prefabricated fixed AC metal-clad switchgear are designed for rated voltage of 12kV and rated current of 630A and below in ring network power supply or radial power supply systems. They are particularly suitable for installation in prefabricated substations as control and protection equipment for power distribution networks.

The switchgear is equipped with the FLN36-12D type SF6 load switch or FLRN36-12D type load switch and fuse combination electrical apparatus with an insulated enclosure. It features small size, light weight, easy operation, light operating force, reliable interlocking, and maintenance-free characteristics — making it an ideal choice for secondary distribution and ring main unit (RMU) applications.

As a key component in underground cable distribution networks, the HXGN15-12 series provides reliable switching and protection for looped and radial distribution topologies commonly used in urban power grids, industrial parks, and prefabricated substation installations.

Key Features

  • Ring Network & Radial Distribution Optimized: Designed specifically for 12kV ring main unit (RMU) and radial distribution topologies, supporting looped power supply configurations that improve supply reliability by enabling automatic fault isolation and restoration through adjacent feeders
  • SF6 Load Switch / Fuse Combination: Equipped with FLN36-12D SF6 load switch or FLRN36-12D load switch + fuse combination — the SF6 rotary arc technology ensures reliable arc extinction within a sealed, maintenance-free enclosure with excellent dielectric performance and long operating life
  • Maintenance-Free Operation: Sealed SF6 tank eliminates the need for periodic servicing; all primary components are enclosed and protected from environmental contamination, reducing lifetime operational costs
  • Compact and Lightweight: Small footprint and low weight make it ideally suited for installation inside prefabricated substations, container-type enclosures, and space-constrained indoor distribution rooms
  • Light Operating Force: Ergonomically designed operating mechanism requires minimal manual effort for switching operations, improving operator convenience and reducing fatigue during frequent operations
  • Comprehensive Interlocking System: Mechanical interlocks prevent incorrect operating sequences — the load switch cannot be closed with the panel door open, and the earthing switch cannot be closed with the load switch in the closed position, ensuring full compliance with IEC 62271-200 safety requirements
  • Insulated Enclosure Design: All live components are housed within or covered by solid insulation materials, reducing required clearances and enabling a more compact enclosure compared to conventional air-insulated designs
