JP Distribution Box

JP Series Outdoor Comprehensive Power Distribution Box (Compensation, Control, Terminal, Lighting)

The JP series outdoor comprehensive distribution box is a multifunctional outdoor pole-mounted distribution device that integrates metering, outgoing feeder control, and reactive power compensation in a single weatherproof enclosure. It is equipped with comprehensive protection functions including short-circuit protection, overload protection, overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, and earth leakage protection — ensuring safe and reliable operation of the downstream power distribution network.

With a compact footprint, elegant weather-resistant appearance, and practical cost-effective design, the JP series is installed on poles adjacent to outdoor distribution transformers, serving as the primary low voltage distribution point between the transformer secondary winding and end-user loads. It is an ideal new-generation distribution product for urban and rural power grid renovation projects, replacing traditional open-type distribution boards with a fully enclosed, secure, and maintenance-friendly solution.

The box integrates reactive power compensation capacitor banks controlled by an automatic power factor controller, allowing dynamic power factor correction at the distribution transformer level — reducing line losses in the low voltage network and avoiding power factor penalties for the distribution utility.

Key Features

  • Multi-Functional Integrated Design: Combines electric energy metering (active and reactive), outgoing feeder control (2–8 outgoing circuits), and automatic reactive power compensation in a single weatherproof enclosure — eliminating the need for separate metering cabinets, distribution boxes, and capacitor banks at the transformer location
  • Comprehensive Protection Suite: Built-in short-circuit protection via moulded case circuit breakers (MCCB) or miniature circuit breakers (MCB), overload protection with thermal-magnetic or electronic trip units, overvoltage and undervoltage protection via integrated voltage relays, and earth leakage protection via residual current circuit breakers (RCCB) — configurable per local utility requirements
  • Automatic Reactive Power Compensation: Integrated intelligent reactive power controller with self-healing MKP capacitor banks automatically maintains power factor at 0.90–0.99 — reducing I²R losses in the LV distribution network by up to 30%, increasing transformer available capacity, and eliminating utility power factor penalty charges for the distribution company or end-user
  • Pole-Mounted Weatherproof Enclosure: Designed for direct pole mounting adjacent to outdoor distribution transformers — the IP44/IP54 weatherproof enclosure with corrosion-resistant stainless steel or coated steel construction provides complete protection against rain, dust, UV radiation, and environmental contaminants for reliable outdoor service exceeding 10 years
  • Compact and Practical Design: Significantly smaller footprint than equivalent separate-component installations — the integrated design reduces pole space requirements, installation labor, and interconnecting cable/wiring costs while providing a cleaner, more professional appearance compared to traditional open-type distribution boards
  • Simplified Installation and Maintenance: All components are accessible through front-facing doors with ample working space — standardized wiring and clearly labeled termination points reduce installation time and simplify future maintenance or circuit modifications by local utility field staff
  • Anti-Tamper Security: Enclosure doors are equipped with padlockable handles or utility-standard locking mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access and meter tampering — particularly important for revenue metering applications in public areas
  • Flexible Outgoing Circuit Configuration: Supports 2 to 8 outgoing feeder circuits with MCCB or MCB protection, configurable for single-phase or three-phase loads — suitable for mixed residential, commercial, and small industrial load types common in rural distribution networks
