It is more cost-effective. (2) Outdoor variant — IP44/IP54, V-shaped overlapping door flange with a continuous EPDM rubber sealing strip, providing positive compression sealing against rain, dust, and wind-blown debris. The outdoor variant is also available with a transparent perspective door for visual inspection without opening. Choose the indoor variant for all weather-protected locations and the outdoor variant for any direct or partial outdoor exposure, including under eaves, canopies, or external walls where rain splash or dust is possible.

The transparent perspective door (polycarbonate or glass viewing window) is recommended for outdoor applications where visual status indication or meter reading is required without opening the enclosure, such as: (1) Metering enclosures — read the energy meter display without breaking the door seal. (2) Control panels with visible pilot lights — check run/fault status from outside. (3) Remote or unmanned locations — reduce the frequency of opening the enclosure for routine checks, minimizing wear on the EPDM seal and reducing contamination ingress. The solid metal door is preferred for general distribution, junction, and control applications where no visual indication is needed, offering the highest mechanical protection and a clean, uniform appearance. Note that the transparent window slightly reduces the effective protection of that door area against heavy impact compared with a solid metal door.

The V-shaped overlapping door flange, combined with a continuous EPDM rubber sealing strip, creates a positive compression seal that works as follows: (1) V-shaped flange — the door edge and box opening are folded into a precise V-profile that overlaps when closed. This labyrinth-like geometry forces any rainwater to travel a tortuous, uphill path to reach the interior, providing a first line of defense even without the gasket. (2) Continuous EPDM strip — EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is chosen for its excellent resistance to UV, ozone, temperature extremes, and weathering. The strip is bonded continuously around the door perimeter with no joints or gaps. (3) Compression seal — when the door is closed and locked, the locking mechanism compresses the EPDM strip uniformly, forming a continuous waterproof seal all the way around. The EPDM retains its elasticity over years of outdoor temperature cycling, so the seal remains effective without periodic replacement.

The JXF-1000 accommodates a wide range of low-voltage components up to 400A. The internal mounting plate is pre-punched with a standard hole pattern for direct component mounting using self-tapping screws or PEM fasteners, and supports DIN-rail mounting for modular devices. Typical internal configurations include: (1) Distribution — main MCCB or isolator incoming, distribution MCBs outgoing, with tin-plated copper busbars. (2) Control — contactors, overload relays, control transformers, PLCs, terminal blocks, pilot lights, and push-buttons for motor control, HVAC, lighting, or pump control. (3) Metering — single-phase or three-phase energy meter (DIN-rail or base-mounted) with current transformers if required. (4) Junction/terminal — terminal blocks for field wiring consolidation. Cable entry is at the bottom of the enclosure via pre-scored knock-out openings that accept standard metric (M20, M25, M32, M40, M50) or imperial cable glands. To maintain the stated IP rating (IP44/IP54 outdoor, IP30/IP40 indoor): (1) Every knock-out that is opened must be fitted with an IP-rated cable gland of matching size and tightened to the manufacturer's torque specification. (2) Unused knock-outs must remain closed (the original knock-out disc is retained) or sealed with a blanking plug rated to the enclosure's IP level. (3) For custom cable layouts, an optional removable gland plate is available — this plate can be pre-drilled to your exact cable schedule and fitted with glands in the factory, ensuring a neat, IP-rated installation. (4) For outdoor use, we strongly recommend using the factory-fitted gland plate option rather than field-drilled knock-outs, as field-drilled holes may not achieve a reliable IP seal.
