HGT Series Touch Screen High Voltage Motor Solid-State Soft Starter
HGT series high-voltage solid-state AC motor soft starter is a new type of solid-state starting and operation protection product for high-voltage motors. It adopts advanced single-chip microcomputers, integrating high-power semiconductor manufacturing technology, power electronics, and modern control technology — filling the technical gap in the field of thyristor soft starting in China.
The starter utilizes high-power thyristor (SCR) modules connected in series as the main control element, achieving smooth voltage ramp-up and current limitation during motor starting by controlling the thyristor conduction angle. This eliminates the mechanical shock and current surge associated with direct-on-line (DOL) starting, significantly reducing stress on the motor, driven equipment, and upstream power supply system. The built-in touch screen interface provides intuitive parameter setting, real-time monitoring, and fault diagnosis capabilities.

Key Features
- Advanced Thyristor Series Technology: High-power SCR modules connected in series with dynamic and static voltage-sharing circuits ensure reliable operation at 3–10kV voltage levels, with redundant SCR design providing continued operation capability even if a single thyristor fails
- Multiple Starting Modes: Supports current-limiting start, voltage ramp start, and soft stop modes, allowing flexible configuration for different motor and load types — centrifugal pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, and crushers
- Touch Screen HMI: Industrial-grade 7-inch touch screen provides intuitive parameter setting, real-time current/voltage/torque display, historical event logging, and comprehensive fault diagnosis with graphical interfaces
- Comprehensive Motor Protection: Built-in microprocessor-based protection covers all major fault conditions including overcurrent, overload, phase loss, phase imbalance, overvoltage, undervoltage, SCR overtemperature, and motor overtemperature — eliminating the need for separate protection relays in many installations
- Reduced Starting Current: Limits motor starting current to typically 2–4 times rated current compared to 6–8 times for DOL starting, reducing voltage dips on the supply network and minimizing thermal stress on motor windings
- Mechanical Stress Reduction: Smooth torque ramp eliminates mechanical shock to driven equipment — extends the service life of couplings, gearboxes, belts, and bearings by reducing starting torque transients
- Soft Stop Function: Programmable soft stop gradually reduces motor voltage rather than instant disconnect, preventing water hammer in pump systems and material spillage on conveyor belts
- Remote Monitoring and Control: Standard RS485/Modbus RTU communication interface enables integration with plant DCS or SCADA systems for remote start/stop control and real-time operating parameter monitoring
