Series Range & Mounting Options

SIBOARD sits downstream of the main switchgear. Where a SIVACON 8PT board carries the incoming supply of a building or plant, SIBOARD distributes it further out — floor by floor, workshop by workshop, outbuilding by outbuilding — at currents up to 800 A. Three enclosure sizes and three mounting forms are covered by one design, one set of mounting parts and one set of drawings.

Where SIBOARD fits. The series takes over downstream of the main switchgear, where circuits branch out and boards get smaller. Because the whole range shares one modular design, a board can be specified at 125 A in a riser cupboard and at 800 A in a plant room without changing supplier, drawings or assembly method.

Modular Design & Fast-Install Kits

What makes the series quick to build is that almost nothing has to be drilled, measured or fabricated on site. Devices sit on pre‑assembled kits that locate in the enclosure on a fixed grid, so two boards with the same panel schedule are assembled the same way by any fitter — and a board can be extended later without reworking what is already there.

One modular system. Enclosure frame, mounting grid and device kits are shared across SIBOARD 125, 630 and 800. Only the enclosure size and the number of kits change, which keeps drawings and spare parts identical across a whole site.

Device width per row. A row carries 24 module widths, and because every kit is built on the same 18 mm grid, a free‑design layout stays as predictable to build as a catalogue one. Going from one row to three multiplies the usable width, not the enclosure footprint.

Busbar & Internal Layout

Inside the board the busbar run, the device rows and the cable connection area are kept in separate zones, so wiring a board is a matter of following guides rather than deciding where things go. Devices are supplied from the busbar by pre‑formed connections, and outgoing cables land in a terminal area at the bottom or at the side.

Inside a SIBOARD board. Three zones from top to bottom: busbar, devices, cables. The separation is a working arrangement rather than a form of internal separation — the series is Form 1 — and it keeps wiring, devices and outgoing cables from competing for the same space.

Typical Configurations

Five standard schemes cover a large part of day‑to‑day sub‑distribution work: a small lighting board in the 125 enclosure, two ways of building a 630 lighting board, and two versions of a dual‑supply board in the 800 enclosure. They are worked examples rather than fixed products — the same kits accept a free device layout when your panel schedule differs.

Three boards, one common scale. All three enclosures are 660 mm wide, so the comparison is a comparison of height. The 125 lighting board is two kit rows tall, the 630 board five, and the 800 dual‑supply board fills 2000 mm of mounting height — which is why one series can start at a corridor box and end at a plant room board.

Supply 2 can be a generator, a second transformer or a second utility feed.
Dual-supply board, single line. The 800 enclosure is deep enough (400 mm) to take two vertical incomers, a changeover device and a control section behind one door — the arrangement used where the board has to survive the loss of the normal supply.

Key Features

One Platform from 125 A to 800 A SIBOARD 125, 630 and 800 are not three products but three enclosure sizes of one design. Mounting parts, the 18 mm device grid, the kit range and the drawings are shared, so a site that starts with a small lighting board and later needs an 800 A dual‑supply board stays inside the same system, with the same assembly method and the same spare parts.
Type-Tested to IEC 61439 and Verified by VDE SIBOARD is a type‑tested assembly. Temperature rise, dielectric properties, short‑circuit strength, protective‑conductor continuity, mechanical operation and degree of protection are verified by test on the standard assemblies rather than calculated per project, and IP and IK protection is verified as part of the same programme. Every board we ship also passes routine tests — visual and electrical inspection, insulation test and verification of protective‑circuit continuity — before it leaves the workshop.
Fast-Install Kits Cut Assembly Time Devices go onto pre‑assembled kits that locate in the enclosure on a fixed grid: modular DIN‑rail kits in 150 mm and 200 mm heights, horizontal and vertical moulded‑case kits, an isolator kit, mounting plate kits and busbar supports. Because the kits set the positions, assembling several boards — and later extending a live board — takes far less time and demands far less on‑site fabrication.
Free Device Layout Inside Standard Enclosures The enclosure does not dictate the panel schedule. Inside the standard frame you choose which devices go where, and the kits adapt to that arrangement, so a board can follow an unusual circuit list without becoming a one‑off build. The standard schemes on this page are starting points for conventional arrangements.
Up to IP54 with IK10 Impact Protection Enclosure protection runs up to IP54 on the 630 and 800 series, with IP30, IP31D and IP43 options on the 125 series. All series reach IK10 mechanical impact class and safety class I. That covers indoor plant rooms and dusty or damp service areas as well as clean riser cupboards, without changing series.
24 Module Widths on an 18 mm Grid A single row of modular devices carries 24 module widths, with 18 mm to one module width. Two rows give 48 MW and three rows 72 MW in a 600 mm wide enclosure; a 900 mm wide enclosure takes 36 MW per row. Packing density is increased by adding rows, not by ordering a wider cabinet.
Flush, Wall or Floor — Chosen per Room The same series covers a flush‑mounted box in a corridor, a wall‑mounted board in a workshop and a floor‑standing board in a plant room. Mounting form is a selection made from the size matrix, so mixed installations on one project do not mean mixed suppliers or mixed documentation.
Ready for Metering and Communication The modular rows accept measuring devices and data gateways one module width wide, so energy measurement can be added inside the board instead of in a separate enclosure. The same kits accommodate temperature and smoke sensing where a project wants local monitoring of connections and busbars.

Applications

Sub‑distribution boards turn up wherever a building or a plant is divided into areas that need their own protection and their own metering. The 125 to 800 A range covers the usual spread of that work.

  • Residential, administrative and commercial buildings — floor and riser boards fed from a main incomer
  • Electronics and manufacturing plants — workshop distribution and machine‑side boards
  • Municipal works — pumping stations, depots and street‑lighting distribution
  • Rail and metro infrastructure — station and tunnel sub‑distribution
  • Healthcare and schools — departmental boards with separate metering
  • Data centres — rack‑row and room distribution downstream of the main board
  • Oil, gas and petrochemical sites — distribution in dusty or damp areas
  • Solar and wind plants — plant auxiliary supply and string‑side distribution
  • Power generation and transmission — station service boards
  • Finance and office fit‑outs — tenant boards with sub‑metering
  • Real estate developments — phased distribution that grows with occupancy
  • Commercial complexes — retail, catering and services distribution

What We Need to Quote Your Board

Because every SIBOARD board is assembled to the project drawing, a few documents are enough for us to come back with a priced board schedule.

  • Panel schedule with the outgoing circuit list — device rating and duty for each way
  • System voltage, frequency and earthing system
  • Incoming current and the short‑circuit level at the board (Icw / Ipk)
  • Mounting form (flush, wall or floor) and the space available
  • Required degree of protection and the environment the board sits in
  • Cable entry direction and cable type
  • Metering, indication or communication requirement
  • Any changeover, interlock or segregation requirement

Send these to gohointl@gmail.com and we will return a board‑by‑board quotation, including the kit list and the type‑test documentation relevant to your specification.
